Serigraphy is a fine art process of
transforming original art into a limited edition.
The term serigraph was coined in the
1930's by an art historian, Carl Zigrosser. "Seri" is from the
Latin word for silk, and "graph" from the Greek word graphos,
writing.
Many artists of the 20th
century, including Lichtenstein, Warhol and Erte, have utilized the
serigraph process to reproduce their work.
